Disaster Medicine game with ETS at the EuSEM congress

At the 2024 European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM) Congress, held in Copenhagen this October, a disaster medicine gaming session was organized twice to simulate hospital ward operations during the activation of a hospital disaster plan.

The session, led by ETS Senior Instructor Christel Hendrickx from Belgium together with two other members of the working group hospital disaster preparedness of EuSEM (Disaster Medicine Section), Izaskun Tellitu (Spain) and Georgios Leledakis (Germany), utilized the Emergo Train System (ETS) to model a hospital ward environment.

During the exercise, participants were involved in managing patients under development within the ETS in-hospital ward simulation, testing the system’s effectiveness and the readiness of medical staff to handle emergencies under disaster protocols. This hands-on approach provided valuable training in disaster preparedness.
